Depends on the X-ray: A basic x-ray of an abdomen will show some vague abnormalities in the position of air/gas within the bowel. If a specialized procedure called a air contrast barium enema is done, the procedure first verifies the intussusception & then can sometimes fix it. The x-rays can then verify that the structures of the intestine have returned to normal.

Barium enema: Intussusception is when the small intestine telescopes into the large intestine. It can cause pain, cramping, lethargy, and bloody stools. A barium or air contrast enema administered in a hospital can often reduce it and avoid surgery. This works about 75% of the time. In some instances surgery is needed to reduce the defect and in rare instances a bowel resection may be required.

Xray inconclusive: Most accurate imaging for diagnosis of intussusception is ultrasound which shows usually ileum telescoped into large bowel as a mass. Most intussusceptions are in children and are ileocolic. Reductions are attempted with therapeutic enemas to avoid surgery.Reductions can be as high as 80-90% Sometimes pathologic lead points such as tumors. These require surgical correction with removal of mass.
