Not in my opinion: I have not know TMJ to have these symptoms. Generally TMJ causes stiffness and pain of the facial muscles and the joint. Pain can radiate to the neck and upper back however I have never know it to cause numbness of the nose and upper jaw. Please see your dentist asap to be evaluated for the cause of this numbness or your ent.

Probably not TMJ: Numbness in the upper jaw and nose is not likely due to a TMJ disorder. This is more likely due to a disturbance of the sensory nerve that gives you feeling in those areas. You might need a ct or an mri. You should see an otolaryngologist (ENT) or an oral and maxillofacial surgeon (oms).

Neurologist: Should see a neurologist. The numbness is a concern and may not even be tmj, but other underlying source of symptoms.

Possible: Possible. Not a common TMJ symptom. If you have no other TMJ symptom, not normal. See ENT doc.

Very unlikely: I highly doubt your symptoms are related to TMD\TMJ. Unexplained numbness dictates a consult with your PCP, ENT or Neurologist who may refer you to a dentist for a consult to rule out dental origin. A medical and dental history as well as clinical exam and x-rays are needed.

Very common: TMJ can cause many symptoms in the face, including numbness of part of your nose, your forehead, and more in the upper region of your face. See OFP specialist for evaluation and management.
