Both CV & endurance : One need to focus on losing fat not just weight. You need to do daily cardiovascular and about 2 times per week of strength training. One need to increase lean body mass and lose fat. If you can do that you will lose percent body fat. You may not have net total weight gain but you will definitely wear less size clothing when you lower percentage of body fat.

No "quick fix": The goal of weight loss should be achieved gradually, not through the latest over-hyped diet or exercise craze. Weight loss can be achieved gradually over time through a combination of dietary changes and a good exercise program. Talk to your doctor if you feel you need medical advice or direction to help you achieve your goal.
