Depends on: This more depends on the type of fracture: stable v unstable & its location in the spine as well as the presence or absence of any neurologic involvement and its type as well as extent. How much obesity plays a role as well as any associated medical issues present. The degree of symptoms also plays a role. The risk is more associated with the degree of neurologic involvement & its permanence.
