Questions: Does swelling go down after elevating or sleeping? If so you may benefit from elastic stockings. I assume your doctor has ruled out congestive heart failure. Have you had any circulatory testing to evaluate blood flow and veins? If not, this may be a reasonable step.

Lymphedema: This may be due to lymphedema or some type of fat deposit- lipoma of the ankles. Both of these conditions can be treated, please see your podiatrist for further treatment.
