A member asked:

Can a sciatic nerve cause you to have excessive water in the knee and pain swelling in ankle and foot? or a torn acl?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not directly. Tho --: The nerve injury can affect the whole leg resulting in weakness, inability to stand on it. Such situation can cause a fall or injury with pain/swelling of joints of the foot/ankle/knee. Torn acl is not particularly associated with nerve injury.
