Not great: Arm unlike leg DVT is uncommon. Iv insertion is only done in superficial veins, so by definition would not cause DVT (deep vein thrombosis) unless the clot spread up the arm to involve the deep vein to which it is a tributary.

Probably normal. : Do you have an anxiety disorder? Or is this just concern? What you describe is quite routine after IV insertion attempt. If your worry more than necesssary in every day life, please see your doctor for help..
