Yes: Superficial thrombophlebitis is a clot in a superficial vein. Usually it is a varicose vein. It will be red, swollen, and tender. Should be evaluated with Sonogram to assure there is no DVT associated with it. Could also be cellulitis. Do not feel hard, thrombosed vein with cellulitis. If it keeps recurring, may need evalution for clotting disorder.
