No: Prednisone is not known to be effective in viral infections of the lung and should not be taken without consultation with a physician.

Not a therapy: Prednisone is not an antiviral therapy. If it is being used your physician will explain why you are on it. It may be to help stop lung bronchospasm with a viral induced asthmatic flare.
