Pain and swelling.: Any surgery can have side effects especially in the area you are asking about. Pain, swelling, drainage, decreased ability to move about, infection, hematoma are just a few. With good care and caution, these should be minimized. Pain meds will help. Ice and local care are essential. Keep good follow up with your surgeon and ask plenty of questions.

Tailbone cyst remove: The most common "cyst" in this region is a pilonidal cyst. It is in the skin and fat over the sacrum or very low back, part of our pelvis just above the tail bone. It should be removed as these trap hair and debris, and can become infected. Once healing is complete, there are no side effects from having these removed, except a scar in the upper butt cleft.
