About

Bio

I graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1994, then completed a General Surgery Residency in 1999 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, followed by a Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery in 2000 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. I am now in partnership in a private practice in Glendale and Phoenix, AZ. I specialize in diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. Colon cancer is the 3rd most common cancer in the US and 2nd leading cause of cancer death. It is preventable with screening -- the colonoscopy. The standard surgical approach in most cases of colon cancer is minimally invasive, or laparoscopic surgery. I also treat diseases of the anus, including hemorrhoids, pain, infection, and control issues.

Specialties
Doctors may have more than one area of specialty interest. Board certification in a specialty area means the doctor has completed formal training and has practice experience in that specialty, and has passed the certification examination from the corresponding accredited medical specialty board.
