In-Office Balloon: Balloon sinuplasty is a procedure for chronic sinusitis patients who are not responding well to medication. Unlike other surgical procedures used to treat sinusitis, with balloon sinuplasty, the surgeon does not remove bone or tissue from the nasal area. The recovery period is usually only a few days, compared to a few weeks. I perform the procedure in-office with local or twilight anesthesia.

Lots on net: The balloon sinuplasty is an excellent procedure for patients with recurrent acute sinusitis or chronic sinusitis. However if you have a significant deviated septum or polyps may not be a candidate for the procedure. Can obtain more info on my website at http://www.Socalsinus.Com.

Yes: When done for the right reasons for chronic sinusitis, sinus surgery (balloon or otherwise) is 90-95% effective at reducing symptoms. Recovery time is shorter (1-3 days) with balloon sinuplasty, and I do this procedure in-office with local anesthesia. Risks are low but similar to any sinus procedure: scarring, bleeding, infection, recurrent disease, eye/brain injury, need for further surgery, etc.
