17mth old male , cp, bpd, x 26 weeker , cvi , 2 grade 4 bilateral bleeds , pvl, ftt, protein intolerance. 16lbs30 inches. safe minimum fluid intake/day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Enough to pee well: I actually understand all you said. Extreme premies with brain bleeds will grow slowly (ftt) due to brain reset not malnutrition. They need 120 cal/kg/day and enough fluids to pee well. Pushing calories and fluids will do more harm than good. They need appropriate therapy for spasticity, risk seizures, and control oral control to protect against aspiration. They need coordinated care.
