Discuss with Doctor: It is possible, that is too high a dose for you, especially if you just started on the citalopram. You need to discuss the situation with your doctor. If not contra-indicated for certain reasons, i often treat my patients successfully for panic disorder with a medication called nortriptyline, which is an older medication. Some doctors have more experience than others in using nortriptyline.

Celexa (citalopram): Not sure if u r taking the 40mg. Once daily or 20mg. Twice daily. Sometimes adjusting the dose can help, or adding supplement for anxiety. Discuss options with youyr prescribing doctor since he/she is familiar with your case.
