Change dose?: Talk to the doctor who prescribed it. Citalopram is usually started at 10-20 mg, but may be increased up to 40 mg. Another option is to switch to another antidepressant such as mitazepine.. Buspirone is a non-addictive anti-anxiety med. Which could be added. Benzo diazepines can help short term, but develop tolerance and can be addictive.
