Yes : In lower respiratory infections like pneumonia/bronchitis or asthma, wheezing is caused by air trying to move through bronchial tubes blocked by inflammation. Cough is a reflex that clears the respiratory tract. Post-nasal drip irritation, bronchial mucous, smoking cessation, bronchospasm may trigger cough. Post-infection cough can last 8 weeks. A persistent night cough may be asthma. Get checked.
