A member asked:

Half my diaphram is paralysed what could have caused it and what is the prognosis. i have had floriscopic study, ultra sound, mri, and know the nerves next to the heart are fine ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Paralysis: A paralyzed hemi-diaphragm is usually caused by injury: previous surgery or trauma. It doesn't usually get better. Luckily, you can get by just fine with one half of your diaphragm so forget it and move on.
