Likely: If you truly do have acute appendicitis, an infection of the appendix, untreated and without surgery the appendix infection will likely worsen & eventually rupture or form an abscess.

Sounds "Fishy": In all but the most unusual circumstances, appendicitis is an acute illness that progresses to rupture if left untreated w/in days of onset; the operation is an emergency, performed asap. If you are well enough to be going online to inquire, somehow i sense this is not being treated as an emergency, which makes me question the certainty of the diagnosis.I advise a 2nd opinion w/a general surgeon.
