I have a 6 inch keloid scar from a midline incision due to a ruptured appendix when i was 8. i am 24 now, is there still a chance or way to remove/minimize the scar?

Keloid: A good dermatologist may have some treatment options for you. But, a plastic surgeon may be best. Keloid pain and the psychological burden of a scar like this is a very common problem and most skin surgery specialists will have dealt with this before. I wish you well. But, keep asking for help.

Options : Include cortisone shots, surgery , cryotherapy , laser surgery, application of silicone sheets, injection of 5 fluorouracil/ interferon, radiation . Discuss with your dr about these. Pls read link.

Appendix scar: If you appendix was ruptured, the skin was probably left open to heal on its own, leaving an unaesthetic scar. This can most likely be improved by scar revision, in which the scar is cut out and the skin edges are carefully sutured.
