Should consult doc: It is is possible that you only sustained a significant contusion/sprain to your hand from the fall, but injury to/at the base of the thumb is a bit concerning for a scaphoid bone fracture. Fracture of other bones in the hand is not as concerning because of the unique blood-supply here : fracture across this bone severs the blood supply. Thus, i recomend seeing doc for an eval/treatment. Good luck.
