A member asked:

How long should my sons ear ooze puss from his tube in a ear infection?

Should respond : If you've started treatment with drops or oral meds the drainage should begin to subside within a few days. Failure to respond may mean there is too much drainage coming out for drops to be effective & a trip to the dr to have the drainage suctioned clear may be necessary. Check with your md.

Shouln't be long: Ear infection in a child with "tube" is better managed by combination of oral or parenteral antibiotics and topical ear drops, e.g., ciprodex.
