Probably: If there is drainage you generally need to use the antibiotic drops. You do not generally need to use oral antibiotics. Ask your ENT about it. Persistent drainage after a course of antibiotics could mean a resistant bacteria or a fungal infection-- they may want to take a sample of the drainage to culture it. Also you may want to keep water out of the ear while it is having issues draining.
