Why does my child keep running a fever and her white blood count goes high and everything looks good on the out side. she is 2 years old?

Persistent fever: If her fever has just been going on for a few days and is esponding to anti-fever medicines, you probably just have to wait it out until the virus infection (which i suspect is causing the illness) subsides. With a high white count, although occasionally seen in some viral conditons, please ask her doctor to perform a urinalysis and urine culture.

There must be: A reason for all these and it is frustrating without a definite answer & at times that may be the case till more tests are run & more signs & symptoms pop up.Has she been referred to the specialists eg infectious disease or hematoligist? You may want to discuss w your pediatrician.
