Pain: Regardless of thyroid function (hypo, hyper or euthyroidism), pain for any reason can cause someone to faint, most likely due to a vasovagal response whereby the heart beats too slowly while the blood pressure drops.

Low blood pressure: Fainting essentially occurs when the brain isn't getting enough blood. People who have an under active thyroid that is not being treated tend to have lower heart rates. The fainting in this case li most likely due to a combination of the hypothyroidism along with laying in a dental chair for an extended period of time along with possibly low blood sugar.
