Not sure...: If you mean 8 cm or 8 mm. A large 8 cm tumor or growth in the cecum near the appendix would likely need surgery. If it is 8 mm then I do not know how it was discovered; colonoscopy or ct scan or barium enema? Colonoscopy may be the first choice if not already done to visualize & maybe biopsy the region. Surgery if a concerning lesion is seen at colonoscopy.
