Don't worry: With out indication no surgeon will remove the appendix , because you are afraid , of getting appendicitis . Every surgery has risk , and potential formation of adhesions , hernias etc. Some times non pathological reason to remove it is , when laparotomy is done for some other reason. Speak to your family doctor.

Keep appendix: You want an elective appendectomy so you never have to worry about appendicitis. Keep your appendix. You most likely will be fine your entire life with your appendix in. If it does become inflamed the survival from surgery is extremely high. Talk to your doctor at your next well patient visit to discuss your concerns. You may have someone related to you who had a bad outcome from appenicitis?

Nothing: The only way to get an appendicitis is to have the lumen of your appendix to become obstructed.
