A member asked:

Why does a blocked nose change from one nostril being blocked to the other?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A normal occurrence : In everybody there is something called the "nasal cycle". In the nasal cycle structures on one side of the nose get more swollen while the opposite side shrinks down and then every three or four hours this cycle changes. When complete obstruction occurs on one side it is often more noticeable. Allergy and low-grade infection can often make obstruction worse.
