Depends: If you are having fevers (temps greater than 101F/38C), a productive cough with green/yellow/blood streaked phlegm, and other lower respiratory symptoms such as wheezing or shortness of breath, then you should seek medical care. If it is a non productive cough with clear nasal discharge, likely it’s a virus which runs it’s course in 7-10 days and you can treat with otc medications at home.
