Various: Depending on the type of anxiety and possible accompanying conditions, the main ones being used now are ssri antidepressants such as lexapro, celexa, and zoloft; plus Effexor and others. Additionally buspar (buspirone). Accompanying these may be benzodiazepines like ativan, klonipin, or possibly xanax at times. Older antidepressants like Pamelor may be used, and MAO inhibitors. Your psychiatrist can help.
