No specific med.: Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (ssri's) are a type of antidepressant that is often used to treat anxiety. Buspar (buspirone) is an excellent but mild anxiolytic. Benzodiazapines can be used but can lead to development of tolerance. Some providers prescibed certain antihistamines for mild anxiety.
