It can be treated with anti-thyroid drugs, radioactive iodine, or surgical removal of the thyroid. Most people in the us end up being treated with radioactive iodine. There are many other causes of hyperthyoidism, some are temporary and do not need treatment. You need to see your doctor to help decide.
