See your doctor: This string is probably a deep suture coming through the surface of the skin. The doctor or nurse will simply cut the suture present above the skin. The small hole left by the suture will heal in secondarily with no scarring.

Spitting suture: If the wound is together and healing fine, i would not worry too much. What you are seeing is either a deep buried suture which is usually absorbed being extruded by your body. Sometimes it can be an outside suture (depending on how your wound was sutured) that was not removed. If you are concerned, see the doctor who did the surgery. He can pull it out if needed. Hope this helps.
