Variable: Grade 3 and 4i chondromalacia is the degree of cartilage wear. 4 is bone showing...So more advanced weara meniscal grading is different our grade 13 is minimal change grade 2 change means into body of meniscus and 3 is thru superior and inferior margins and can be a surgical indication.

Arthritis: Grade 3-4 chondromalacia of the patella (knee cap) is advanced thinning of the joint surface of the patella. Signal change in the posterior horn of the meniscus is tissue degeneration (wear) without tearing. Osteochondrosis is arthritis.
