Social support. : Becoming a doctor is a long and difficult process - the rewards are there, but there's also the risk of becoming depressed and isolated. Make sure you have a good social support network of friends and family you can talk with and rely upon when things get hard. Avoid excessive alcohol and sleep aids. Exercise, eat healthy, and develop hobbies outside of medicine. Best of luck!

Figure out what your: Priorities are ; that will be your "true north". Learn to be efficient. Eat healthfully. Don't skimp on sleep. Stay physically active. Expect to work your butt off. Expect to make sacrifices. You may have to keep reminding yourself why you went into medicine to get through rough times. I found medical school to be very hard. I am glad I am a doctor.
