Yes, but ?benefit: You can, but beyond your daily recommended dosages you'll probably pee the rest out. There hasn't been any good data showing that it has therapeutic or preventive roles in cardiovascular disease or cancer and at best a minor role in preventing the common cold.

Higher doses of vitamin c (more than 2000 mg/day for adults) could lead to adverse reactions (heartburn, nausea, diarrhea, or kidney stones).

Yes: Vitamin c has several benefits. Some are speculative - while others have strong clinical support (such as cold prevention). I would recommend 500-1000mg per day. There is speculation of increased risk of kidney stones - but it is truly speculation and yet to be confirmed with a controlled trial.
