Safe to take 40,000!: There is no know "toxicity" to oral vitamin C though too much can cause loose stools. There is some concern that taking large amounts of Vit C on a longterm basis can increase risk of kidney stones but the evidence is contradictory: http://tinyurl.com/ho9dccc Vit.
