hi i am 18 and i've had my period for about four years now however it is very irregular and i get it no more than six times a year is this normal?

No not normal: Your hormones are not working correctly, you need to see your gyn or a gyn for an exam , blood work and an ultrasound, and often your periods can be regulated with birth control pills or other hormones, i see this not infrequently in my patients.
