Nothing?: I have patients tell me all the time: "nothing works." can you see how you defeat yourself by thinking that? I am sure you are very frustrated. If you do not also have bipolar d/o and if you were my patient, i would discuss with you taking the medication called nortriptyline. It should be prescribed by a psychiatrist who is very comfortable with it. You often need blood monitoring for it to work.

Panic: If you took yourself off of your medication, it probably was not working for your anxiety. Best to talk with the prescribing doctor about possible alternative medications & therapies which you have not tried before. Never give up.

Yes: There r lots of options left--reevaluate your case think of older meds like maois make sure you've taken meds long enough at high enough doses think of augmenting meds that gave a partial response-- try different therapy approaches--naturally you r frustrated but take a new tack and keep seeking relief.

Try again: It sounds like you are at the verge of giving up but i would encourage you to try again. If citalopram represented the cornerstone of your pharmacotherapy then trust me when i say that there are a lot more directions to take your treatment. You would probably benefit from either individual psychotherapy or group psychotherapy as well. Talk to your doctor about the best next step! stay safe!

Probably: Curses will not work without your cooperation. Let's assume helplessness hopelessness and dispair are not appropriate. I don't know if your anxiety can be eliminated, but the more you understand about yourself and your life the better chance you have. Assume you have a many step problem which can be improved a piece at a time and start fixing the pieces you can.
