Not 'nuts' to me: Yes, it is quite possible. These are commonly reported early side effects. Without a crystal globe, it is a mistake to think anyone can predict that you would have felt this way in any case. Consider asking for a referral or find one on your own. You need to trust your 'psych' and work together in treatment. Don't stop on your own though, it can cause problems. Be careful but consider a change.

Yes,: Those are side-effects of most anti-depressant medication, and while it is possible that 'they would have happened anyway' - the fact that they are is very concerning, and i would strongly urge you to seek care at a hospital that offers inpatient psychiatric services, or even a partial-day program if you are having suicidal thoughts, esp. If you are making plans to harm yourself.

SSRI's: Some antidepressants like the class called ssri's(examples, Lexapro (escitalopram) , celexa.Zoloft, etc) may make anxiety worse when first taken but after a week or 2 the anxiety level improves. If you are having too many problems during this time, however, discuss this with your psychiatrist who is an expert in the use of these medications.
