Yes, but not LASIK: There are new technologies available which use a laser to break up the lens to allow it to be removed from a small incision in the eye. Most surgery in the us uses sound waves rather than laser to break up the lens, again through a small incision. Laser cataract surgery may have some advantages (it is new, and opinions vary among eye mds), and is an add'l charge not covered by your insurance.
