Many possibilities : Methotrexate was originally developed as a chemotherapy agent for a variety of cancers but is now more commonly used to treat autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis & psoriasis. Folic acid should be taken with it to reduce side effects & toxicity. Why don't you ask the woman? See http://arthritis.About.Com/od/mtx/a/methotrexate.Htm.
