Depression: Learning problems are evident by very early school years. If new difficulty develops in teenage, more serious issues may be present. Most common is depression, but progressive brain disorders must be considered. Drug and alcohol abuse may be an issue to explore. Opposition defiant disorder may be a cause.

Individual: As a person with a learning disability matures, they develop ways to work around their ld. Sometimes they develop poor self esteem or confidence if they are unsuccessful in school. Finding something you can excel at will help immeasurably. Ld teens have a high incidence of alcohol, nicotine & drug abuse. They r more likely to get in trouble with the law. Your expertise will protect you from these.
