Not really: Celiac disease, while being diagnosed much more, is still a relatively uncommon disorder in kids and teens. That being said, there are more and more kids with chronic abdominal complaints being diagnosed as doctors become more aware of the condition. It tends to be more common in kids with other immune conditions such as type 1 diabetes, autoimmune thyroid problems, etc. Talk to peds GI for info!
