Mostly inherited : Most learning disabilities are inherited or acquired at birth. If a person suffers a brain trauma, then learning problems may happen as a consequence.

You do not get a LD: A person does not get a learning disabilty. These are conditions children are born with. They may not show up immediately when children enter school, but may await getting to an age when signs of the disability become obvious.
