Rectal cancer: There was a study that showed that patients with higher vitamin d levels had better survival. That does necessarily mean that giving vitamin d once you have the diagnosis works. It could be a marker for some other factor we are not aware of yet. Consult your oncologist about nutritionals during your treatment.

Not proven: There are no widely accepted studies showing that vitamins help the treatment of rectal cancer. You should strive for a well-balanced diet, and ask your oncologist if there are any specific nutritional considerations if you are receiving chemotherapy.
