D/w her doctor: Please discuss in regard to therapy with her doctor. She should get some supplement of vitamin d. Her doctor can give her prescription of high dose vitamin d that she can take on weekly basis for several weeks then repeat the level again. Low level of vit d on somebody who is getting chemotherapy -if the vit d deficiency not corrected- may lower the response to chemotherapy. Good luck to you both.

Ask ur doc: Vitamin d deficiency is quite common due to inadequate sun exposure. Although we give steroids with docetaxil but the doses and frequency is not enough to cause metabolic bone disease. Vitamind d deficiency can be corrected by supplement with high doses for few weeks to restore normal levels followed by maintenance doses to keep it at normal level. A calcium supplement should also be used.
