Could ptsd influence one to do psychotic acts such as murder?

PTSD: Many psychiatric disorders impair judgment and reasoning. It would be incorrect for you to think that ptsd would automatically cause a violent act. Many people with ptsd have no history of violence.

A serious subject: A number of combat ptsd patients in my care have engaged in violent behavior in the midst of a flashback. This is why it is important to aggressively address this type of dissassociation. However, we have a mantra that ptsd is not an excuse for violence. A bit paradoxical.
