PTSD: The person has to want treatment, and no amount of cajoling, nagging, or anything else will work. You can only be a loved one, and not their therapist.

PTSD: Effective trauma treatment really can resolve the symptoms. Hopefully they want to get better but if they aren't seeking therapy you may need to talk about how their behavior is affecting you or other family members. You can't force them to go for treatment but set healthy boundaries and don't get drawn into having to accommodate problem behaviors. EMDR Therapy is extremely effective.

Care for self too: First, learn as much about the disorder as you can. Offer to accompany to appointments, be available to listen, but don't push, encourage contact with family/friends, and plan activities to the extent that your loved one is willing/able. Understand that your efforts may be rejected as withdrawal is common. Enlist help of friends/family/support groups and medical professionals. Best wishes
