My mom who is 70recently had shingles. now she is ok but showing some memory loss since she got cured from shingles. cant remember things.is it normal?

Unlike relationship: It is unlikely to have this due to shingles unless this involved the nervous system as encephalitis. It would be good for her to get evaluated by geriatrician, many of whom may also run a memory clinic.

Shingles: I agree with Dr. Siddiqui. Unless she had encephalitis which would be rare and would have made her very ill, then this isn't one of the generic symptoms of Shingles. She needs evaluation for cognitive changes.

Memory loss: In addition to Dr. Fowler’s excellent advice about a cognitive eval, please consider your mom’s nutrition, rest, exercise, etc. She was likely run down when the shingles erupted. Peace and good health.
