No : The pain could be due to the nerve in the tooth becoming necrotic which will eventually lead to an abscess. I would make an with your dentist to have this checked.

In a word....no...: It may be fairly common to have some tooth pain come and go. However, i would have it followed up by a dentist to make sure all is well.
